Outdoor Learning project

Our fantastic KS1 and KS2 active play environments!


We’ve created two incredible active play zones on our playground for both our Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 children. These exciting developments will encourage our children to become physical active and lead a much healthier lifestyle.


For our Key Stage 1 space, we chose an excellent log climbing frame to develop children’s overall strength, climbing confidence, foot placement, coordination and balance. This open ended resource is a brilliant group challenge allowing children to traverse, climb and build dens underneath.


We installed similar climbing challenges in our KS2 space but with a higher level of challenge to ensure our children have continual development. The KS2 space includes a larger Log Climbing Frame alongside Monkey Bars and other climbing equipment.


Key Stage 1 children will develop the skills and confidence from their dedicated space to seamlessly move on to the harder and more challenging Key Stage 2 area.
