History and Geography

After a Monday morning full of exploring and treasure we have discovered our topic is Ancient Egypt!

In this topic, we will be learning all about what life in Ancient Egypt was like and the spectacular discoveries made by archaeologists nearly 100 years ago!

Ancient Egypt is an ancient civilization which means it is an old society.

We already know Ancient Egypt is in the continent Africa, Egypt's capital city is Cairo and the longest river is the River Nile.

We know that the equator is a line of latitude and countries such as Egypt, which are rather close to the equator, tend to be hot and dry with no real seasons. This is unlike the UK, where we live, as we have different temperatures throughout the year, depending on the season, and we have A LOT of rain!
